Johan Wesemann
Policy advisor of the Board of Governors of the schools for the deaf and hard of hearing (Netherlands)
Johan Wesemann, born on 6th September 1944, had an education in Mechanical Engineering and initiated his career in technical roles as a designer engineer. Mr Wesemann furthered his education in course for Management (Post Social Academy). Since then, he has worked in various capacities over the last twenty years for a number of organisations.
Some of these roles include Director of Social Service for the Deaf, Director of the European Union of the Deaf, Chair of the European Disability forum and also Director of the Dutch Sign Language centre. Johan is currently working as policy advisor of the board of Governors of the schools for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Additionally, he has also contributed in many other voluntary roles such as being a member of the Board of the Royal Institute of the Deaf "Ammanstichting", Chair of the Dutch Council of the Deaf and also as a member of the Commission on Recognition of Sign Language.
He now lives in Houten in the Netherlands and is married with three children.
